COMMUNITY FAMILY FUN NIGHT IS HISTORY!
What a great night we all shared, as the community of First Christian Church! Thank you to the planning committee – Barry and Susan Storer and Steve Pasky, to name but a few! They dreamed big and took on a monumental task of reaching our community in a new and different way.
Over 25 church members were involved in setting up, manning booths, cooking, cleaning up, playing lots and lots of games, visiting and greeting newcomers, directing people to rest rooms, serving as parking lot attendants, and more. This was an entire church effort and I am so grateful for all you did.

After several months of hard work, First Christian Church's new and improved website is up and running. There are still some kinks to be worked out, but all in all we are very, very pleased with the new design. Please say a word of thanks to Jeff Eady and Charles Daniels for shepherding this project.

Blessing Boxes
Cardboard Blessing Boxes were distributed in the spring to each family at church. We ask that when you feel God's blessing, you place a gift to God in your Blessing Box (coins, cash, check). Blessing Boxes will be collected at the end of the summer, with proceeds supporting our BackPack Buddies Ministry.
The Joy Dare
Luke 3:1-3:20
John answered, "Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none and anyone who has food should do the same."
Luke 3:11
Make a donation of clothing items or food to a charity or a friend in need.
Dear God, thank you for giving me all that I need each day. Show me ways that I can share what I have to help others provide for their families

NEW SERMON SERIES FOR JULY
Any Requests?
Thanks so much to each one of you who submitted ideas for my “Any Requests?” sermon series. I received about 25 different suggestions, and narrowed it down to the following four subjects:
July 20: Does God Want Us to be Poor?
July 27: How Do I Make Sense of the Trinity?
Again, I am so very grateful to each of you for taking the time to share your ideas, and I hope to address them all in one way or another, both in this series and through other sermons in the coming months and years.
Blessings,
Troy

3rd Annual Laura Langley
Memorial Blood Drive
Saturday, Aug 23
The 3rd Annual Laura Langley Memorial Blood Drive will occur on Saturday Aug 23, from 10:00 - 4:00. The good news is that for the first time the Blood Drive will occur here at FCC! Please mark your calendars. If you are a regular blood donor, please try to time your summer donations so that you will be able to participate Aug. 23. We also hope FCC members will help us spread the word by sharing emails, putting flyers in your neighbors' mailboxes and/or posting flyers or posters about the blood drive in area retail establishments. The goal is to use this as an FCC Outreach ministry. We want to exceed the wonderful results of our previous blood drives by hosting this year's event in Laura's home church. If you are willing to help by volunteering on Aug. 23 and/or by distributing publicity materials, please contact Ann or Jim Langley at 980-1827
