We have a Winner!

Congratulations to Shawndra Manning from Sanford! She won the Sanford365 Limocycle Tour Giveaway (a $350 value) and will soon be cruising Sanford's streets with 14 of her friends.
We ran this contest on Facebook and had over 100 people enter. In addition to that, all of our current Sanford365 newsletter subscribers automatically qualify for our regular monthly giveaways. A new giveaway is in the works so watch for it on Facebook towards the middle of the month!

Soccer Fever

It's been two very busy weeks here in Sanford. Were you able to catch any of the FIFA Worldcup games? Whenever work allowed it, we saw most of them at Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe, but there are also some other great bars around town where we were able to catch a game, for example, Buster's Bistro on Sanford Ave and The Quiet Man Irish Pub on 2nd Street (this one's really cozy, loved it!). The next BIG game is this Friday, July 4th at 12pm. Watch Germany vs. France at Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe and if Germany wins there will be a pretty big party going on...

The Star of Bethlehem: Christmas in July
A favorite seasonal presentation of planetariums around the world, the Seminole State College Planetarium-produced version of "Star of Bethlehem" has been praised by both secular and religious audiences alike for the last decade. "Star of Bethlehem" looks into the issue of the Christmas star from a scientific standpoint, breaking down the existence of Jesus of Nazareth, the story of the Magi, and the astronomical events that may help to explain the Star. With cutting-edge research that is both scientifically and historically accurate, "The Star of Bethlehem" deftly explores the fine line between faith and science.
Most appropriate for ages 9 and up.
Doors open at 8 p.m., and each show begins promptly at 8:30 p.m. The planetarium does not take reservations, so we advise everyone to arrive early for ideal seating. No one may enter or re-enter the planetarium once the show begins. The planetarium can take only cash or checks at this time.

The sky is set for Sydney, Australia, which is almost identical in latitude to the Seminole State Planetarium. "Skies Down Under" offers a tour of the Southern Hemisphere skies, giving guests an up-close view of six to eight constellations that can only be seen south of the equator.
Have you seen the skies down under, where the stars glow and the constellations give wonder?

Save the Date: Monty Python’s Spamalot!

Romantic Dining at La Sirena Gorda CabanaA wise psudo-historian was overheard to have said that Spamalot! tells the legendary tale of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail with all the hilarity, zany antics and memorable lines of Monty Python and the Holy Grail but with the really boring parts cut out. Oh yeah, it also has some singing and dancing, often at the same time, killer rabbits and not-so-tropical coconuts. Spamalot! is “A new musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture”.
