GOVANHILL BATHS COMMUNITY TRUST (GBCT)

Volunteer Coordinator


Salary: £11.607 per annum

Responsible to: GBCT Board Location: GBCT, 99 Calder Street Govanhill

Purpose of the post
• To recruit, select, support and offer training to volunteers working across the GBCT to enable the delivery of GBCT activities, programmes and service delivery and expansion
• To ensure GBCT staff, trustees, and volunteers are kept aware of good practice in volunteering and of any changes in “relevant legislation” that might impact on volunteering

PRINCESS ROYAL TRUST LANARKSHIRE CARERS CENTRE


Lanarkshire Carers Centre is the key resource for Carers across Lanarkshire to access information and a range of direct support services.  The Centre is based in Hamilton with a second base in Airdrie supplemented by Carer Support Workers operating from within locality social work teams. 

Carer Support Worker

Full-Time 35 hours per week worked flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
Starting salary £21,005 rising to 26,065 per annum
Funded by North Lanarkshire Carer Strategy as part of a 3 year funding cycle that currently runs until March 2016.

North Lanarkshire Carers Strategy has funded a locally based Carer Support Service for 14 years. Due to an internal move, applications are now invited for a Carers Support Worker to join the existing team that delivers support to carers in Lanarkshire.

We seek to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated individual with a sound understanding of the impact of the caring role within the family and the issues faced by unpaid carers. Two years experience in a similar role is essential along with a working knowledge of the health and social care system. Experience of working across statutory, voluntary and private sectors will be advantageous.

Project Volunteers (various)


This role is within British Red Cross Refugee services in Glasgow.  As a Project Volunteer for the Third Country National Family Integration Service you would be helping third country nationals arriving in Glasgow via family reunion adjust to life in a new country offering valuable support and advice to ease the process. There will also be volunteer opportunities within the family reunion service and the holistic integration service for refugees.  As a volunteer your tasks will include: showing refugees where to find local amenities and how to access services such as healthcare and English classes, assisting the project team with setting up activities and helping support service users on organised trips, delivering practical assistance, such as food vouchers or clothing, collating resources or providing other administrative tasks, Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding and protection issues with vulnerable clients, including children and vulnerable adults.

We can offer access to relevant in-house training and development opportunities, including British Red Cross intranet site and e-learning facility, a full induction including 5 days training, support and supervision throughout your volunteering period, valuable exposure to the work of the Red Cross in the UK and around the world, reimbursement of reasonable out-of-pocket expenses when on duty

Helpline and Development Officer

The main role of the Helpline and Development Officer is to manage all elements of our national Muslim Women's Helpline, associated campaigns and development work. The project works with volunteers to provide a listening ear service and deliver our dynamic campaign ‘I Speak for Myself’ which aims to inspire women by promoting positive images of Muslim women.  

This Post is exempt for women only under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010

Through research, advocacy and grant-making, the project explores the political, social, cultural, and economic participation of minority and marginalized groups in Western Europe. We place a high priority on the local community and city-level practices that mitigate discrimination and seek to ensure equal treatment for all.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person who has a keen interest in equality, human rights, and social justice to support the work of At Home in Europe as a program coordinator on a permanent, full-time basis.
