Executive Director of Holocaust Commission on Governor's delegation to Israel

The Georgia Commission on the Holocaust’s Executive Director, Sally N. Levine, returned on June 27 from a 5-day mission to Israel with Governor Nathan Deal and a delegation of state of Georgia officials and business leaders. The delegation visited Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Caesarea, Herzliya and Atlanta’s sister city of Ra’anana.
 
The delegation’s itinerary included visits to various holy sites, the Israel museum, Israel Aircraft Industries, Hadassah Medical Center and Yad Vashem. Governor Deal participated in a wreath laying ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance and Mrs. Deal read the poem “Birdsong” at the Children’s Memorial at Yad Vashem. Click here to learn more.
 

Exhibit Closed: July 4th 

The Anne Frank in the World: 1929-1945 exhibit will be closed on July 4th in observance of Independence Day. The exhibit will re-open at noon according to regular hours on Saturday, July 5th. 

With My Own Eyes: Holocaust. Genocide. Today

Free showing! Sunday Matinee: July 20, 1pm 


The Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center has produced a 20-minute educational documentary. This video weaves the testimonies and artifacts of local Holocaust survivors with contemporary issues of bullying, bystanders, and world genocides. The goal of the documentary is to introduce the viewer to the Holocaust  and to connect this history to our world today. On display! New exhibit features Holocaust survivors who began new lives in Georgia


The new exhibit will be on display this summer in Sandy Springs at Anne Frank in the World: 1929-1945.The exhibit tells the stories of seven Holocaust survivors who left Europe and began new lives in Georgia. Click here to learn more.

Free tours! 2014 Summer Camps Program


This summer the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust will be providing free special tours and activities for campers grades 5th and above at the Anne Frank in the World: 1929-1945 exhibit in Sandy Springs. Click here to read more...
