Stop caring so much.
About what might happen.
About what might be said.
About how it could all work out.
If you've been following me, you know "future tripping."
Future tripping is when you let your mind spin out of control with every possible scenario that could happen to you.
All of these scenarios are completely made up. Yup, they're false. Have they happened yet? Nope. So they're not true.
When I say to stop caring, I mean stop putting so much weight on things that don't need the extra pounds. (Including you. Pun intended.) When your mind spins stories, you can't live. You miss opportunities. You live in fear of the "what ifs."
The truth is you never know what could happen. Going on a date with someone doesn't mean you'll marry them. Putting your services out into the world for purchase doesn't meant you'll be scrutinized. Trying a new workout doesn't meant you'll hate it and never see results.
Instead of looking at all the negative things that could happen, look at some of the opportunities that could arise. Maybe that date will have a friend who is perfect for you (or maybe he's perfect for you). Maybe you'll have a waitlist on your new business. Maybe you'll love your new workout and become addicted to exercise.
Don't say it won't happen, because it can. So next time you start future tripping, catch yourself. Ask yourself if anything you just told yourself is true.
I'll bet you it's not true. Just like with last week's Monday Mantra, your life doesn't have to stay on repeat. You have all the power to have the life you want, to get what you want. It all starts in your mind.
This week's goal: Catch yourself when you're future tripping - and give less weight to those thoughts.
