Das NLA-Team trifft am Samstag ab 11.00 Uhr im Baseballstadion Heerenschürli auf die Bern Cardinals.
Am vergangenen Wochenende überliessen unsere Aktiven die Schläger und Handschuhe für einmal ihren Angehörigen und Freunden. Zum bereits 15. Mal fand auf der Klopstockwiese das traditionelle Family & Friends Plauschturnier statt. Impressionen davon gibt es in diesem Newsletter.

CHALLENGERS WIN NIGHT GAME

The Zürich Challengers won the local derby on Friday night, July 4 at the Heerenschürli ballpark against the Zürich Lions. The C's scored four runs in the first frame and added two in the second and third innings each to make it 8-0 and held on for an 11-1 victory to improve their record to 5-7. Ryan Byrne and Harry Bregy combined for a no-hitter, while Byrne also delivered four hits.

BASEBALL NLA vs CARDINALS

The NLA-Team will host the Bern Cardinals on Saturday, July 12 at the Heerenschürli ballpark. The C's are in fifth place with a 5-7 record, while the Cards (9-6) are tied for second. It will be the first meeting between the two teams in 2014, but already the 96th in Swiss Baseball history with the Cards leading the all-time series 49-46. The games start at 11 am and 2 pm.
Am Samstag, 12. Juli gastieren die zweitplatzierten Bern Cardinals im Baseballstadion Heerenschürli beim NLA-Tabellenfünften Zürich Challengers. Es wird dies das erste Aufeinandertreffen der beiden Teams in dieser Saison sein, aber bereits die 96. Begegnung in der Geschichte des Schweizer Baseballs. Die Cardinals haben dabei die Nase mit 49-46 knapp vorn. Spielbeginn ist um 11.00 und 14.00 Uhr.

The NLB-Team travels to the Berner Oberland on Sunday, July 13, where it will meet the Thun Hunters. The Hunters (3-7) won two of three games they played last weekend, while the C's (6-0) are the only team in the National league with a perfect record. The games will begin at 11 am and 2 pm at Thun Allmend.
Das NLB-Team reist am Sonntag, 13. Juli ins Berner Oberland, wo es auf die Thun Hunters treffen wird. Die Hunters gewannen am vergangenen Wochenende zwei ihrer drei Partien, während die Challengers die einzige noch ungeschlagene Equipe in der Nationalliga sind. Die Spiele beginnen um 11.00 und 14.00 Uhr auf der Thuner Allmend.

SOFTBALL at SWISS NATIONAL TEAM

The Softball-Team will face the Swiss Softball Nationalteam on Saturday, July 12 at Hünenberg for two friendly games. The Team Zürich will be supported by the foreign players, who play in the Swiss NLA. The games start at 11 am and 1.30 pm.
Das Softball-Team bestreitet am Samstag, 12. Juli in Hünenberg zwei Freundschaftsspiele gegen das Schweizer Softball Nationalteam. Dabei werden die Zürcherinnen von den in der Liga engagierten Ausländerinnen unterstützt. Sie Spiele werden um 11.00 und 13.30 Uhr ausgetragen.
