How are you going with the CP Strength Challenge? Has anyone completed Day 31 yet? Those Crazy Ivans are harder than they look!

Good luck to all those people racing at the Brass Monkey this weekend.

Photo: It was a bit cold & windy today but so much fun mt kaukau & Johnston hill trigs are in the bag!if you ever find yourself with a few hours to spare in Wellington then check out the skyline walk(johnsonville-karori)its one of my favourite places B-) (abi)

Trig-Bagging Update

There was a Lord of the Rings theme in the trig-bagging entries last week - Trudy was in Edoras country at Mt Potts, while Abi bagged a few in Wellington, home of Middle Earth. And let's think about how that epic chain of events all began - Bilbo Baggins stepped out his door in search of an adventure. Not unlike trig-bagging really! Ok, I can't promise elves, dwarves, wizards and battles, but grand challenges and epic scenery are always on the cards (and hobbit style second breakfasts if you plan your day carefully).
Need some ideas?
Mt Cass walkway (near Waipara, 40min north of ChCh) is up for grabs - a walk with a trig at the summit - check it out!

Only three weeks of trig-bagging season to go team - don't lave it too late!
Send your entries to fleur@completeperformance.co.nz, or post them on our Facebook page.

CP Casual Clothing- order extension!

This Friday, the 11th July is the final, final day for ordering from our Casual range of clothing. Let's face it, you can't wear lycra all day, every day. Make sure you put your order in to keep ahead in the fashion stakes this winter. Check out the range, complete with sizing and pricing here

Spring Challenge Team Training Day

Are you keen to test out your legs, your equipment, your navigation (and maybe your teammates)?! Then join Fleur on a Spring Challenge training mission.

When: Sunday 9 August
Where: Virginia Road, Hawarden (75min drive from ChCh)
What: We'll start with a mountainbike ride (gravel road and 4wd farm tracks) to a transition area at the historic and maybe haunted 'Tommy's Cabin', where we'll ditch bikes and trek to the summit of 'Mt Lance'. This will be a mixture of on and off track trekking - a great chance to practice some easy navigation. The loop course will take us back to our mountainbikes, which we'll ride back to the finish line for a debrief and some hard earned coffee and cake!
This will be an achievable day for all abilities, but with enough challenge for those who want to stretch their legs.Time estimates are 1.5 - 2 hours mountainbiking, 2-3 hours trekking. Fleur will be alongside you  to provide advice, answer questions, and of course encourage your Spring Challenge awesomeness!!
(Note - while the day will be designed for Spring Challenge competitors, it is open to anyone who would like an adventure in the hills - blokes included!)

Rally your team and book in that leave-pass for Sunday 9th August. Bookings will open this week.

Training Tip:

Surviving the deep, dark winter!
Over the next couple of months, when the weather is dim, the key is consistency. It's important to just get out there and do something. Anything! Our 'strength challenge'  is a good place to start (and it's inside). Or you could try cycling along with the Tour de France for the last 20mins of each stage. It's also school holidays, and if you're hanging with the kids this week- get them involved. Do a walk with some 'fitness or navigation challenges' along the way. Or make trig-bagging your family activity!

Fantasy Tour de France

Watch our folks, Bryan Prestidge is moving up the Fantasy TDF ranks! He started day one in last place, and has rocketed up to 8th by day 2. Leighton got off to a fast start, but apparently this is normal, before his steady decline to the rear of the field ;-)

If you're following the Tour, why not come along and try our CP Tour de Spin class on a Wednesday evening- your first session is free!

Need some inspiration?

Roger Sutton and Mike Brown are speaking this Thursday 10th July about their various life experiences to raise money for Ronald McDonald House and the Achilles Foundation. Some of you may remember Marina rode with wheelchair athlete Mike in the Chch half marathon last month.
"Hang on to your hats while Mike takes you on an enthralling journey - learn and grow, experience the highs and lows through the heart and mind of an adventurist and life attack specialist".
