Stray Dog Theatre presents Four Sugars
Stray Dog Theatre’s New Works Laboratory presents FOUR SUGARS
The New Works Laboratory at Stray Dog Theatre is pleased to workshop Four Sugars: A New Full-Length Play. Alyse and her gay best friend, Travis, are getting ready to bid adieu to their "fake" marriage of three years and celebrate Alyse having become an official U.S. citizen. Unfortunately, no aspect of their real-life relationships seem to operate as smoothly as their make-shift marriage did. This two-act, contemporary seri-comedy is written by St. Louis Playwright Stephen Peirick, who is the recipient of an Individual Artist Grant from the Regional Arts Commission to help make this fully realized production of Four Sugars a reality.

For MATURE AUDIENCES: Due to adult situations and language, this production may not be appropriate for all ages. With the New Works Laboratory, the audience, performers and writer all take part in the play development process. The writer creates the script, actors translate the page to the stage and audience members exchange immediate and uncensored reaction to the play, providing all with insight. Playwrights with a unique vision, innovative subject matter, and diverse perspectives are thus given a voice—which otherwise might never be afforded to them in the contemporary world of performing arts.
Stray Dog Theatre's New Works Laboratory is free of charge; however, an opportunity to donate toward the evening's production is available. Audience feedback following the show is strongly encouraged through a brief talk-back session, hosted by Gary F. Bell, Stray Dog Theatre's Artistic Director and the Director/Playwright, Stephen Peirick.

Note: No charge for admission. Seating is limited. For Mature Audiences.

August 21 – 23, 2014: Show times are Thursday – Saturday at 8pm. Bark Bar opens at 7:00pm. Theater space opens at 7:30pm.
