From the Coordinator:
"A Hui Hou"

It's been just about 18 months since I became coordinator of the OLS Young Adult Ministry.  In this relatively short time period, the young adult ministry has grown into the now thriving E.P.I.C. Ministry.  And like many other ministries, the last year and a half has been filled with so many blessings and challenges with friends coming and friends leaving as well as spiritual highs and perhaps even some disappointments.

Looking back on this time, though, I can't help but think of all the achievements E.P.I.C. has made.  We, collectively and individually, have been impacted in many big ways and small ways by E.P.I.C.'s mission "to empower young adults to follow Christ by service, social, and spiritual paths."  And there's still much more work to be done in empowering every young adult to stay faithful in this mission to follow Christ deeply and intimately.

I have personally been extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to lead this incredible ministry.  But I feel that it is also an opportune time for me to step down for a bit as Coordinator of E.P.I.C. Ministry and allow a new leadership team to take the reigns.  From September to December, E.P.I.C. Ministry will be led by a new Core Team under the guidance of Malcolm Zara.

I'm excited to be taking this brief sabbatical from leadership, but I am more excited to see where this new leadership team will take E.P.I.C. Ministry.  I'd like to thank each of you for your continued support.  Please continue to keep this important ministry in your prayers, and though I won't be physically be going anywhere, until next year, a hui hou!

Aloha,
Kainoa

HANA RETREAT
EPIC Ministry is gearing up for this year's EPIC Retreat,
"Ready and Willing," to be held in Hana, Maui, on
August 15-17.

A few spaces remain, so if you're interested in joining, register today!  If you've experienced our retreats before, you know this one will be just as EPIC!!!

See the EPIC Ministry website for more details.
How well do we know and understand our Catholic faith?  Would you be confident enough to have a discussion with those of other faiths about what it means to be Catholic?  If you feel that you could use a "refresher" on all things Catholic or just need a major crash course in how to talk about your faith, the OLS Summer Apologetics Series is just for you.

Each Sunday this summer, we will be touching on a specific topic regarding the basics of our Catholic faith in the context of what the Church actually teaches and believes, and how to articulate and share that with others.

The series is led by EPIC Ministry Coordinator, Kainoa Fukumoto, and wraps up this month.  So please join in this special series before it ends!
