Statistics change in the racing world as fast as the greyhounds race. Since this article, Husker Magic has increased her win streak to ten straight and reset the seasons best 550-yard time to 30.13. Her previous 30.29 was erased briefly by Magic's sister Husker Zhivanhy, also a top grade performer for Abernathy Kennel.
 
Alabama Kennel's Dwayne Wade's 37.18 time has been shattered by St. Pete Derby winner Jacks Lil Bigman of the Lashmet Kennel. Bigman reset his own best time lowering the new 660-yard time to 36.92. 
 
On Friday, August 1st, the battle of the sexes returns with Joey Ice and LK's Winamuca dueling again. Joey Ice is seeking three in a row and a 47th win this year. He was doing well until Winamuca "iced" him twice in a row. Thrown into the mix is another star from the Abernathy Kennel-Husker Anuzha, the sister to Husker Magic. The litter of Rhythmless and Casino Zada are the talk of the track. They compete in race six.

BIG WEEKEND AT SARATOGA
This Saturday features the Whitney Handicap and two other Grade 1 races, the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap and the Test Stakes.  The Whitney will feature Palace Malice vs. Will Take Charge and newcomer  Itsmyluckyday. Our pick is Palace Malice, riding a 4-race winning streak to prevail over a stunning field. Will Take Charge, who won last year's Travers over Moreno and 2013 Kentucky Derby winner Orb, will try to duplicate his late run for the victory. Itsmyluckyday, riding a 3-race winning streak, will try to upset the top pair and become the new sheriff in town.

With his current winning streak and Nuncio being his only known competition, the Voice of Derby Lane is going with Father Patrick to win the 2014 Hambletonian despite a less than ideal post.
