With more than 100 local jurisdictions in California that have banned single-use plastic bags, residents from all corners of our diverse state have spoken that they want to be part of an important global movement toward reusable bags.

Moving Towards a Special County Wide Open Space District

Perhaps the most commonly shared value in our community is our love for the natural environment.

Supervisor McPherson is interested in exploring the concept of an Santa Cruz Open Space District which will enhance and protect our rich open space and environmental treasures.

Upcoming Meetings

During the past 18 months, hundreds of you have attended a town plan or town hall meeting that I hosted. Together, we compiled and prioritized a long wish list for our San Lorenzo Valley community, and a number of projects are underway.

I plan now to shift to neighborhood meetings. I will be working with residents to hold a series of neighborhood “coffees” in the coming year. We will meet informally in private homes. If you would like to host a coffee, please contact my office at 454-2200.

Meanwhile, please take the previously scheduled town hall meeting dates off your calendars. We will let you know when a meeting is scheduled for your neighborhood.
