Got the blues? So do we!
Belfast Farmers' Market

How do you do blues?

Blueberries!

It's blueberry season in Maine, and you should see what your favorite vendors do with them!

At Savage Oakes Winery, just in time for blueberry season we have Blueberry Pi back on the shelves. This rich, blueberry port style wine is wonderful paired with dark chocolate and perfect for drizzling over ice cream or cheesecake. Another dessert idea; macerate wild blueberries in the wine, then serve over thick slices of angel food cake. YUM!

This Friday's Market entertainment will be provided by Velocipede! Hailing from the great state of Maine, Julia Plumb (fiddle, foot percussion) and Baron Collins-Hill (tenor guitar, mandolin) play fiddle tunes from around the world.

See you at market, every Friday, 9 to 1, rain or shine, at Waterfall Arts on High Street.

Enchanted Kitchen at Fire Fly Farm will be using Burke Hill's organic blueberries in crêpes this week as well as your favorite build your breakfast savory crêpe and braised short rib crêpe!  We have all of our fresh baked breads and sweets also~
See you at market!!

Half Moon Farm will  have some pints of our tangy, delicious high bush blueberries.  Yes, they do grow in Maine--if you plant them! Ours have been bearing for 30 years with little attention other than pruning and mulch.

First dill pickles and dilly beans will be available, too.  And more of our yummy haricot vert and green beans.

And don't forget Half Moon Farm's blueberry chutney, a featured ingredient along with Highland Organics Blueberry Barque, in Appleton Creamery's blueberry torte. Layers of plain goat cheese and goat cheese mixed with blueberry chutney separated by layers of barque. Yum!

ME Water Buffalo Co. will be bringing their first water buffalo dairy items this week! Liv is doing a great job giving us her milk & baby Luke is doing great on the bottle. This week we plan to bring some of our incredible cream top jar YOGURT di Bufala in blueberry as well as plain & some of our knock-your-socks-off-it's-so-creamy! "Blueberry topped Aislinn Cheese". We'll also have a full range of water buffalo steaks, burger & sausage at market as well. Thank you to everyone who came out to our farm on Open Farm Days & made it a huge success!

Fire Flower Garden and Pottery will not be at market this week. I will be exhibiting my pottery with the Maine Crafts Guild at their MDI Directions Show in Bar Harbor this weekend.  Apologies for my absence and look for flowers at Half Moon and New Beat Farms this week.

Pemaquid Lobster & Fish doesn't
know of recipes with fish and blueberries, but now that the lobster season is off to a slow start, we will be having fresh picked lobster meat at the market this week.
It makes for an easy dinner and all the work is done, lobster salad, lobster rolls, lobster bisque or lobster casserole.
Tom has been busy making new inventory of crab cakes and fish pies, crab quiche is on the way next.
