From GLASGOW CENTRE FOR INCLUSIVE LIVING

5th August, GLASGOW, GCIL Equality Academy, 33 Dalmarnock Road, G40 4LA
Equality Impact Assessment Course (EIA)
£120 per delegate, lunch provided. An EIA involves assessing the impact of new or revised policies, services or practices against the requirements of the public sector equality duty, placed on public bodies and organisations involved in public functions e.g. RSLs, by the Equality Act 2010. The course content is twofold and will examine not only the context and nature of the Equality Impact Assessment process, but also how to contest a public body's decision based on the failure to produce an EIA.  The course provides delegates with both a theoretical and practical understanding of the internal and external elements that must be covered if an EIA is to be implemented effectively, as this distinction is often not addressed.  The course will be highly participative with housing specific examples to promote active learning. This course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of those working for housing associations and social landlords.  To book contact 0141 375 0464 or email equalityacademy@gcil.org.uk.  Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.  Please contact us for a quote if your organisation is interested in the GCIL Equality Academy providing this course direct to your staff, a minimum of 10 staff members required.  http://www.gcilequalityacademy.org.uk
