On our June trip, children in the sponsorship program were measured for their school uniforms and shoes, which they will receive on our August trip. We celebrated the five 2014 high school graduates. This is especially exciting for MTM since the graduates represent the measure of our program's success.
Special thanks to Mary Steinbarger for birthday rosaries for the sponsored kids. They were really happy to be acknowledged and to receive their birthday gift.
Our 650 families received despensa which includes rice, beans, flour, oil and pasta. Their gratitude was expressed with their smiles and words of thanks.
Focus for our next three mission trips is as follows:
AUGUST 7-8-9 :
- 800 backpacks filled with school supplies to be given to children in our general program
- 200 sponsored children will receive backpacks filled with school supplies, school uniforms and shoes
- Despensa (groceries) for 650 families
- Dedication ceremony in memory of MTM fundraising coordinator, Cissy Rodriguez, honoring her love and support of our ministry
OCTOBER 10-11:
- Blankets given to help our families stay warm in the winter
- Despensa for 650 families
DECEMBER 5-6: Christmas in the Colonia!
- Party for sponsored kids and their families
- Santa will give soccer balls, stuffed animals and goodies to all children
- Despensa for 750 families
