CLUB ACTIVITIES

Was it hard for you to get out of bed this morning? Imagine sleeping out in the cold all night – now that’s tough!

Join the Hutt Street Centre bright and early on their annual National Homeless Persons Week event, 'Walk a mile in my boots', and show your support towards members of the South Australian community who are doing it tough.

On Friday 8th August, the walk will be starting at Rundle Park (cnr North and East Terrace) at 7.30am and finishing near Hutt St Centre in the South Parklands with breakfast. The walk is easy, fun, makes a significant difference to people’s lives and you can still get to work or school on time!

This year, Hutt Street Centre would love to see 4,000 people walk in the city and many more walking a mile in their community. If you walked last year, drag a friend out of bed to join you this year!

START Friday 8 August 2014 7:00am for 7:30am start
FINISH Friday 8 August 2014 8:00am

Hospital and Medical Equipment in Cebu, Philippines

The Rotary Club of Kent Town formed a project to send much needed medical equipment and supplies to the Visayas Community Medical Centre (VCMC) in Cebu, Philippines. This area was one of the many devastated by super-typhoon Haiyan.

To this end, we partnered with St Andrews Hospital and Rotary Central Zone Australia Donations In Kind (DIK) to send two shipping containers of urgently needed medical equipment such as theatre instruments, hospital beds, wheel chairs, shower chairs and a wealth of other items. Shipping was arranged by DIK on our behalf on the 23rd of March 2014

Getting Involved
While developing business networking opportunities and building life long friendships Rotarians experience personal growth in an organisation that is respected worldwide for its high values and standards.
