Already thinking about August First Friday in Raleigh? We are! Roundabout Art Collective has partnered with the Autism Society of North Carolina to bring you "True Colors" an exhibition of ceramic work made by people with disabilities through Creative Living, an innovative day program for adults with autism. Check out the exhibition August 1st 6-9pm!

 Accessibility Toolkit!

We have a goal to share our Arts Access + LEAD Conference toolkit with arts organizations across North Carolina. To do so we need your help! We only have a few days left in our Power2tgive campaign and every dollar counts! The toolkit will be filled with tips and instructions for making any arts organization more accessible to everyone. To help your local arts organization receive the toolkit, donate a few dollars today!

  HURRY TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

Full details about our GATHER art exhibition opportunity for school-age kids with disabilities have been added to our website. This opportunity is completely FREE and open to any school-age kid in North Carolina! The art will be professionally installed and exhibited for the full month of September. A public reception for friends and family will be held on September 19, 6-8pm.

Arts Access was excited to participate in this years Youth Leadership Forum!
This annual event is held on the NC State Campus. Young leaders with disabilities from around the state are invited to participate in many educational, goal-oriented, and career-focused activities. We used the time to encourage the delegates to think about how art could be an intricate part of their life goals. Pictured above is board member Rene Cummings talking to the delegates about inclusive opportunities statewide through the Statewide Independent Living Council.

  Marbles Family Fun Night!

We always love to have our staff present at Marbles Kid Museum's quarterly Family Fun Night!
These are FREE after-hours events exclusively for kids with special needs and their families to experience Marbles in a calmer, quieter environment. Keep an eye out for their very popular "Spooktacular" in October. We will put details in our e-news and hope to see you there!

  accessibilitySPARK
call-for-volunteers

SPARKcon is a giant creativity explosion held in Downtown Raleigh during the first weekend in September. Last year SPARKcon was attended by over 50,000 people, involved 2000 artists, in 200+ events. Arts Access is setting up an accessibilitySPARK booth this year, to provide attendees with disabilities information about getting around and successfully enjoying the festival. This will include information for people with disabilities including visual impairments, deaf and hard of hearing, intellectual disabilities, service animals and mobility impairments.

If you would like to assist at the accessibilitySPARK table during this super fun creativity explosion, contact Brandon for more info!
