  • ChefChef Container 0.2.0 (beta)- This past week, Chef released a version of the Chef client that can run inside a Linux container. The first release of chef-container addresses the unique execution environment inside Docker. chef-container, allows you to build and launch Docker images while adhering to Docker best practices. Chef also announced the release of the first version of their analytics platform, which gives you visibility into your Chef server, a way to publish notifications when there is a change, and a way to verify compliance (announcement here).- July 15


  • ShopifyShopify Merchants Can Now Accept Bitcoin Payments With Coinbase- Shopify's new Coinbase integration can be used alongside other payment services, like Shopify Payments and PayPal. Coinbase offers a two-click checkout experience and simple refunds that make accepting bitcoin payments easy. All Shopify merchants can currently use Coinbase to accept bitcoin and anyone with a U.S. bank account can convert their bitcoin to USD.- July 15


  • Amazon RDS for PostgreSQLService Level Agreement and General Availability- Effective July 1, 2014 RDS PostgreSQL will be included in the Amazon RDS SLA and it will be generally available. The SLA provides for 99.95% availability for Multi-AZ database instances on a monthly basis. If availability falls below 99.95% for a Multi-AZ database instance, you will be eligible to receive service credits. AWS also announced updates to the AWS Support API- July 15


  • Google AnalyticsGoogle Analytics iOS app- Without an official announcement, Google launched the Google Analytics iOS app. You can now access all of your Google Analytics web and app data from your iOS mobile device.- July 16


  • StripeStripe in Australia- Australian businesses can now instantly start accepting payments via Stripe. Pricing is set at 1.75% + 30c for Australian cards and 2.9% + 30c for international and American Express cards. Aussie users can also charge in 100+ currencies.- July 21
