SAAS Academy's kick off

SAAS Academy was officially launched on December 17th. A press conference was organized to emphazise the start of this promising initiative. SAAS Academy is emerging from the "Cloud Computing plan", one of the 34 plans of the New French Industrial Programme. It serves to raise awareness and assist software suppliers in their strategy to migrate to cloud solutions. SystemX is in charge of the operational management of this initiative. Find out more

Breaking news

STIC Forum

The second edition of the STIC Forum took place on December, 2nd. The event was once again organized jointly by DigiCosme, Digiteo and SystemX and hosted at ENSTA Paristech. Around 200 participants came to listen to talks about cybersecurity, societal stakes of big data and why it is crucial to teach computer science at school. Each of SystemX's PhD students were there to present their theses. Find out more.


#MeetPSAExperts

François Stephan, Program Director at SystemX, participated to a #MeetPSAExperts session organized by Jean-Piere Dumoulin, PSA Peugeot Citroen IT Fellow and member of the SystemX Technologies & Tools Research Program  Orientation Committee, entitled "Big data: imagine a data future!" Discussions between big data experts were numerous about the way big data will overwhelm our lives, especially in the field of emerging services leveraging the connected vehicle. Future under construction
From November, 28th to December 20th, the "Future under construction" exposition proposed to discover the progess status of the Paris-Saclay campus in terms of scientific, economical and urban projects. Models, projections, Fresco, timeline were displayed and round-tables and conferences were organized throughout this time. Learn more.

R&D projects
Emphasis on SystemX's projects

In December,executives from Renault and RATP came to meet SystemX and discuss about its research activities and teams. On the one hand, Olivier Colmar from Renault, notably partner of ROM project, spent half a day with project team to hear them presenting their research work, their progress status and how their results will fit into Renault's roadmap. On the other hand, Christian Galivel, Deputy CEO in charge of projects, engineering, investments and Greater Paris project at RATP, came to discover the research works done at SystemX in the field of automated-vehicule (LRA project), multimodal transport (MIC project) and the analysis of multimedia and multilingual content (IMM project).

ARE project
James Roberts, Senior research engineer at SystemX, intervened at a Lincs seminar, on December 9th. His speech was about "Content popularity and cache performance." This general theme of this seminar was Network architecture. Check the Lincs seminars' calendar.
 

SCE plenary session

SCE project organized its first plenary session in December, two months after it started. Representants of each academic and industrial partner attended this meeting to define SCE project's objectives, in line with partners' expectations. Altsom Transport notably presented its use case related to electric railroad network.

Talents in motion

DCABES Conference
Guillaume Benissan, PhD student at SystemX, went to China to participate to DCABES conference (Distributed Computing and Applications in Business, Engineering, and Sciences). He made two presentations respectively entitled  "Spectral domain decomposition method for physically-based rendering of photochromic/electrochromic glass windows" and "Beam-tracing domain decomposition method for urban acoustic pollution".
