If anything is to be said of 2014 in Dallas, let it be this: 2014 was the year the Dallas startup community became exactly that. A community. Many at the State of Entrepreneurship Address will recall the staggering statistics on the amount of caffeine consumed at events and programs in 2014 (at last count it was over 12,400 cups), but the growth of our community goes deeper than a cup of Joe.
Local leaders, along with entrepreneurial ambassadors, mentors, investors and area talent came together—through pitch competitions, workshops, meetups and more—in the name of a shared vision: to make Dallas the best city in the country to start a business. Without their collaboration and dedication to serving entrepreneurs in Dallas, our startup community would not be what it is today, and for that we are truly grateful.
Now in the full swing of 2015, it’s up to each of us to enrich and expand upon the relationships formed in 2014. Whether it’s catching up with a mentor, inviting a friend to Free Cowork Wednesday's, or checking out this month’s newsletter, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, so we invite, and as Dallas entrepreneurs, challenge you to do so.
