Remembering Valeri McNeal

We were deeply saddened to learn of the death on December 12 of Valeri McNeal. Valeri was recovering from a stroke she suffered in November, and her sudden death is a great shock to family and friends. Valeri was devoted to First Unitarian Church of Baltimore and served in many leadership positions in the past 25 years. She was especially known for her commitment to our church's history and home, serving as the principal docent offering tours of our Sanctuary. She applied diligent attention and her very own hands to strip, repair and restore the Channing Pulpit, and has been, in the past six months, stripping the Universalist Lectern as a step in its restoration.

Rev. Olson is working with Valeri's sister Corlis Loney in determining the details of a Memorial Service to be held at our church on January 17, 2015. Cards of condolence may be mailed to her sister and niece Kenya at 3 Harebell Court, Apt A-4, Nottingham, MD 21236; and to Alan Blake â„… First Unitarian Church of Baltimore, 1 W Hamilton St, Baltimore, MD  21201
