Erosh Christmas and Holiday Message

Like everyone else, it has been a hard year but in spite of (perhaps due to) the continuing economic challenges, membership has increased as cash strapped organisations, especially smaller providers, look for a cost effective way of keeping staff up to date with current policy and good practice.

We are now planning the 2015 awards which will take place on 23 March at the wonderful Mercers’ Hall, London. On offer are four awards of £1,000 to be used as you like for the benefit of residents. Awards will be presented by Esther and the event chaired by Lord Richard Best. If you haven’t already submitted an entry, please do here. It is a great opportunity to gain some national, profile raising publicity as well as a sizeable cheque!

A quick reminder of what your membership has bought you this year:
  • Access for all your staff to policy updates, and topical good practice advice and case studies
  • Training on specific areas of good practice with 20% discount
  • Bi-monthly e-newsletter full of news and information
  • Discounts on selected partners’ training/events including Sitra training courses and the CIH Cymru/erosh older people’s conference
  • Free networking events with key speakers and mini training sessions
  • National press successes raising the profile of the sector on your behalf
  • Representing you on national projects/working groups and in responses to national consultations.
  • The opportunity to tell us what is happening to you through our ‘sector selfie’ survey
  • Eligibility to show case your own good practice at our Innovation & Good Practice Awards
Additional benefits coming your way  in 2015:
  • New erosh Service Impact Template - an easy-to-use framework for recording the evidence you need to demonstrate the value of your services to key stakeholders. 50% discount for members.
  • Free ‘State of the nation’ report collating the findings from our ‘sector selfie
  • More good practice advice and case studies
  • Free job vacancy advertising on www.erosh.co.uk
  • 2015 Innovation & Good Practice Awards with prizes of £1,000 for your scheme/service
  • New Ask Another Member facility to share good practice and seek advice with each other

So, an incredibly busy year but an exciting one. The key changes we have made together with the recruitment of a dedicated PR/Marketing Manager and Web Manager, have given us the opportunity to be more creative and to develop our Policy & Practice Portal, which is still our most popular service along with our regional networks which are going from strength to strength.

I look forward very much to 2015 especially the launch of our Service Impact Template which has already generated a lot of interest; and the findings of our ‘sector selfie’ survey which will provide a useful picture of older people’s housing/support services as well as the impact of funding cuts.

I would like to thank erosh members so much for their support;  we really couldn’t exist without you. I am convinced (and member feedback suggests) that, in the current climate of financial constraint and increasing diversity of service provision, there is an even greater need for cost effective support and professional development for frontline staff to maintain service quality as well as for a central hub for information and advice.

With very best wishes for Christmas and the holidays, and Happy New Year.

With very best wishes.
