First Christian Church will offer two Christmas Eve services this year.  The 5 PM service will be especially family oriented, with our children and youth presenting "The ABC's of Christmas."  Any child who would like to participate should arrive at 4:30 PM and come to the library to pick out a simple costume (angel, shepherd, or wise person).  NO REHEARSAL will be required, and ALL children are welcome.

The 11 PM service will be a more traditional service of lessons and carols.

Both services will feature the Good News of Christmas in scripture and song, concluding with candlelight communion.  We will also receive a special offering at both services to support our Backpack Buddies ministry.

Christmas Eve is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends and family to First Christian Church!

Join us  for worship on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. as Rev. Troy Tatum preaches a new series of sermons on Jesus’ greatest sermon:
 1/4: Turn the World Around
1/11: Salt & Light
1/18: Therefore, You Must Be Perfect
1/25: Strive First for the Kingdom
 2/1: Seeing Clearly
2/8: Good Things
2/15: The Road That Leads to Life
A Message for New and Returning Deacons

Fellow Deacons,

Please plan to attend a meeting immediately following Sunday worship on January 11th to elect a new chair and Missions Council representatives.  In addition to the normal duties as deacon, other responsibilities of the chair include:
  • Purchases communion supplies (cups and juice) and monitors inventory
  • Makes sure there is deacon coverage for special services
  • Represents the Diaconate at monthly Missions Council meetings
  • Is a member of Worship Mission and Executive Council
  • Schedules and conducts Diaconate meetings as necessary
Four deacons will be selected to serve as voting members of the Missions Council and attend monthly meetings. If we decide to continue having Captains/Alternate Captains for each class, then appointments may be made during the meeting as well. Please let me know if there are any questions about these responsibilities.  Additionally, we’ll have a brief training session for new deacons following this meeting.

Hope to see everyone on January 11th!

Thank you,
Jay Barkley
Sunday evening Children and Youth Ministries will resume on January 4, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.  Can't wait to see you again!

NEW FCC MUGS AVAILABLE!
There is still time to purchase one of two (?) of our beautiful new FCC mugs for $8.00.  They will make great Christmas gifts!

We will be including these coffee mugs in our visitor gift bags. When you purchase a mug, you also cover the expense of a guest's mug too!
Pastor's Travel Schedule
