The venue
The conference will take place at the FIL (Feira Internacional de Lisboa), in the ‘Parque das Nações’ area of the city. These premises were built for the World Fair (Expo ’98) and have now become a choice location for meetings and expositions, situated in a vibrant and modern commercial area. FIL is conveniently close to the airport and offers a wide range of accommodation, leisure and shopping activities nearby. With an exceptional view over the river Tagus, FIL has three auditoriums, smaller meeting rooms, a foyer for exhibitions totalling over 100 000 m2 and can cater for up to 500 delegates. Addiction: a multi-disciplinary perspective
The multi-disciplinary nature of addiction will be one of the four main themes around which plenary, paper and rapid communication sessions will be organised. This approach will help increase understanding of the complex phenomenon of addiction, which encompasses a broad range of research disciplines, such as public health, sociology, medicine, law, criminology, political science and economics. We also welcome abstract submissions on new challenges and developing areas in the fields of alcohol, illicit drugs, tobacco/nicotine and/or behavioural addictions.
