Dear Friends,

From watching race cars zip by at the Grand Prix to marching across the iconic Mackinac Bridge, Autism Alliance of Michigan has traveled all across the state of Michigan this year and left some pretty incredible footprints along the way in the name of autism awareness.

Here are a few highlights:
  • 39,221 Michigan students have heard the anti-bullying message of Anthony Ianni at Relentless Tour
  • 10,000 people, comprised of law enforcement, first responders, families and many other groups, have been trained in the Autism Safety Training program.
  • 60 self-funded companies have added autism insurance coverage over the past 2 years, including the big three automotive companies GM, Ford and Chrysler.
  • Since launching in September, the Laundry Microbusiness at Oakland University, which employs adults with autism, has more than doubled its monthly revenue.
  • 75% of people who use the laundry service have become repeat customers since they were so impressed with the service.

2015's New Adventure!

Our Michigan families need a road map to the critical services and supports their loved ones will need across their lifespan. Autism is a complex disorder and the maze of treatment and therapy options becomes one more hurdle in a busy, hectic scramble to do what is best for their child.

In 2015, AAoM is sharpening their pencil and drawing this road map with the creation of the Michigan Family Autism Navigator- a call line and website that connects Michigan families with thousands of autism-related resources around the state such as therapies, evidence-based treatments and local support groups.

Help AAoM bring the autism Navigator to every community in Michigan.
