New Projects
Hastings Song
I walk, walk, and your homeland is still everywhere around me, this wintry far-offness, I walk, walk, and have forgotten that I ever knew another country.
Commissioned by Parasol unit and in partnership with Rose Bowl, I led a 5-day workshop for 8-13 year olds to create diaries inspired by Shinro Othate's exhibition at Parasol unit (12 October – 12 December 2014).
2014 saw the launch of Ibraaz and I.B. Tauris book Uncommon Grounds: New Media and Critical Practices in North Africa and the Middle East, edited by Anthony Downey.
I am currently project managing the production of the second volume of the series on Visual Culture in North Africa and the Middle East Series, working with the proficient team of Ibraaz, I.B. Tauris and the Beirut-based designers, Maajoun.
I was invited in February 2014 to run a four-day workshop at Townhouse Gallery on video post-production and installation for artists, curators and technicians.
The program focuses on six different areas in the technical aspects of producing exhibitions and cultural events to develop skilled arts professionals in Cairo trained in the technical aspects of exhibition design and production.
