The Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation will be posting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for several of our grant programs in early January.  Be sure to check out our web site at EWVCF.org for more information about our Youth Grants, Education Grants, Housing in Action Grants, Historic Cemetery Grants in Jefferson County, and much more.
Finally, all of us at the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Mini-Grants to Teachers

Program successfully expands to Jefferson, Morgan, and Hampshire Counties

The EWVCF 2014 Mini-Grants to Teachers program was a resounding success thanks to generous donors, enthusiastic teachers, and supportive administrative staff in area schools. We awarded more than $28,500 in mini-grants of up to $500 each to support a wide variety of projects and hope to continue the program in the coming years. The excitement and appreciation shown by the teachers made this one of our favorite events of the year.

Wurzburg Dog Park
Travis and Scarlett Hill honored

Berkeley County's first dog park is now officially "Open for Business" and the area's canine friends couldn't be happier. Thanks to a grant from the Wurzburg/Hill Family Fund, the new dog park was constructed at Ambrose Park in Martinsburg. Kudos to Steve Catlett of Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation and to Travis and Scarlett for seeing the project to completion. The photo above shows the Hills with family friend (and past-president of the Community Foundation) Diane Dailey.
