For those of you in the Northern hemisphere this is the most inward new moon of the whole year with it also being the shortest & darkest day - Winter Solstice. (More about that below). For those of you in the Southern hemisphere, the opposite is true - this is the longest & lightest day so the easiest new moon - that is, unless your moon sign is Capricorn. Those with Cappy moon may feel extra sensitive emotionally & psychically - especially around issues of control, authority. limitations & responsibility. The Lesson of Capricorn
Cappy is probably the most hard working of all the signs, so those with a lot of Capricorn in their charts may find it hard to pull themselves away from their work to spend quality time with family during the festive period since it coincides with the moon waxing to full in this sign.
For those lacking self-discipline, this lunar month is a great time to develop the consistency needed to produce results in any area of your life - as the mountain goat never gives up in his/her ascent up to the summit.
Capricorn is the sign ruled by Saturn, 'Father Time'. Those of you in your Saturn return year (those currently aged 29 or 58) may find this time of year more challenging than usual but remember, 'this too shall pass'. Saturn has a 29 year orbit so every 29 years it ends up in the same position it was at our birth. Depending on the sign Saturn is in in our chart we often receive a catalyst to step up & assume greater responsibility in that part of our life.
Capricorn transits activate our 'inner father' archetype - the masculine aspect that governs our heart chakra. So this is a good time to consider whether your 'inner Dad' provides & protects you in a way that's patient, kind, loving & consistent like the 'Green Man' who responds from an open heart or whether instead you're 'inner Dad' is more of a 'Zeus' - a stern, authority figure such as an inner critic who chides you with endless self-criticism instead of affirming your efforts to grow, building your self-esteem. |

Many of us were raised by a Zeus, since he was the norm in that by-gone era so unless we take active steps to heal our inner masculine, he re-enacts the behaviors of our father unconsciously continuing the abuse & neglect of our formative years. It is therefore imperative we do this self healing work, regardless of our physical gender if we want to heal & grow. Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere
For those of you in the northern hemisphere, Dec 21st is the 'Silent Night' - the most feminine time on the seasonal wheel when you may experience your own 'Dark Night of the Soul'. This is why traditionally people lit candles & made lanterns to focus on the eternal light of the soul within during the time when we can feel overwhelmed by the dark. This can also be a very challenging time for relating with loved ones in a way that doesn't descend into old unconscious behaviors that re-wound. So do try to focus on being the light in the darkness with meditation, singing carols, sharing inspirational poetry & gathering with loved ones & telling them what you most cherish in them. Traditionally this was a time when the men of the village would go on retreat to focus on their ego death, since the diminishment of the sun catalyzed their annual rebirth. In our modern culture, without acknowledging this transition a lot of men experience depression, illness & fail to experience a breakthrough needed for their maturation.

Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere
For those of you in the southern hemisphere, Dec 22 is the time of the longest, brightest day - the zenith of masculine energy. It is a time of enjoying the fruits of all your have worked for in this hardworking, 'Year of the Horse' - for some of you that may be a well earned rest!
It is a time of celebration, when we can fit more in to our days & need less sleep due to the solar power. This is even more so if we do a practice like sun eating at dawn & dusk or the Tree of Life Meditation to harness the solar logos energy & activate your light body. If the masculine energy is out of balance we can however experience too much fire, that can result in hotheaded behavior, acting without thinking, 'hooning' on the sunset strip in hotted up cards - just generally 'boys behaving badly' so whilst I don't recommend you 'lock up your daughters' you may want to advise them to be extra cautious & discerning during this lunar month. In the holographic reality we live in, we can experience an excess of out of balance yang energy (action not balanced by reflection) as creative fire turned chaotic & destructive such as bush fires or house fires - so again be mindful rather than fearful so you don't need to manifest an external wake up call. |

- Mercury in Cappy From Dec 17. Whilst the Earth signs give us our sense of humor this may cause communications for being somewhat stern, serious or gruff - especially between dads & their offspring. Cappy can however evoke rude jokes aplenty!
- Venus in Cap Till Jan 3. The focus my tend toward connections with people whom you can build something lasting with - be that a marriage, business or project.

- Saturn in Scorpio till 2015. You may experience obstacles until you experience a crisis which forces you you to do things differently under this transit.
- Jupiter in Leo till 2015. This is an auspicious time to express yourself as any risks to share your creativity will really expand your confidence & sphere of influence.
- Uranus in Aries till 2019. This is a time of new beginnings as sudden insight makes great shifts personally & globally, ushering in the Age of Aquarius which Uranus rules.
