Making some noise about Gong | Issue 7 | December 2014
Ding Gong Merrily on High. It’s the end of another amazing year and we wish all of our friends a healthy, wealthy 2015. Here are a few nuggets of news from the last three months we’d like to share.

Coffee that means business

In November, Mars Drinks launched its stunning new Frog-designed Flavia Barista coffee machine in the Times Center, New York with the help of TED talk A lister, Simon Sinek. Gong was called in to help spread the word among professional firms and collaborative workspaces using social and mainstream media.

Stop press

With the party poppers from its 25th year anniversary party barely silenced, Olam has just announced it has reached an agreement to buy the cocoa business of ADM. Amazing news to wrap up the year. We’ll be rolling out the chocolate liqueurs in celebration this Christmas!

True Office: You can ring my bell

And in other New York stories: Congratulations to True Office, which was bought by the New York Stock Exchange. Founder Adam Sodowick has become COO of NYSE Governance Services. We are deeply proud to have worked alongside serial entrepreneur Adam through another successful exit.

Emerging Capital Partners: Powerful private capital

Our congratulations go to our long-standing client ECP, which announced that its co-CEO, Hurley Doddy, has been voted as among the Power50 most influential figures in African private equity by investors and industry practitioners.

Books: Billions to Bust and Back

Among other legendary entrepreneurs we are privileged to work with, adventure capitalist, Thor Bjorgolfsson and his co-author, Andrew Cave asked Gong to help launch his candid, eye of the storm account of building and losing a fortune in the Icelandic financial crash. A launch at The Library club, complemented by some hand-picked media opportunities will promote the book in the run up to Christmas and beyond.

In Search we Trust

And in a different type of exit, executive search firm, Saxton Bampfylde made the transition to become an employee owned business through an employee benefit trust in 2014. Gong worked with the leadership team to help get the message out to the right audiences with a carefully targeted media relations project that generated positive stories in titles including the Financial Times and The Daily Telegraph. Congratulations to the firm and its 72 partners!

Announcing Renny

In January we welcome Renny Popoola to the Financial Services team as a Senior Account Manager. And in other happy news, a new Gong baby arrived in the shape of Nathan. Congratulations to our Creative Project Manager, Ella and her husband Robert.
