A bracelet of hearts, hands and eyes.
A pattern of Wednesday evenings in August.

In bud, bloom and bust, this trio of flower sisters made poesy to me in a Nimbin churchyard on the fourth of July.
Nine days later, in circle with my father's sisters and my own two sisters, a trembling, quivering energy is present: it is the delicate thread of my dying father's last breaths on earth. Ushered again into that portal between worlds by Dad -  one who called me into this life on earth - he is now giving us the gift of accompanying him to the edge of leaving.
Even under the constraints of his advanced Parkinson's mask - and after a week of refusing all meds and food - it becomes surprisingly clear that the space (presence, love, ... ) he is connecting to, is becoming larger than his impulse to breathe. With a sharp look of wonder, his clear blue eyes are taking in something we sense but cannot see. There are two or three more small breaths, spaced far apart. Each one is almost like an afterthought. Until he simply surrenders, and the breath falls away. All our eyes are welling up, some of us are sobbing. A bracelet of hearts, hands and eyes flowing as he lets go of physical form, his release felt through all of us.

What I can tell you is this: I welcome your presence at the following Focusing workshops on Wednesday evenings across August (NOT Ekka Day) at the Relaxation Centre of Queensland, 15 Southpine Road, Alderley.

PLEASE NOTE: You can come to all four of these events, or any of your choice. Previous Focusing experience is very welcome, but not required for the practice sessions.

The generously spirited Lionel Fifield, who has been holding a space for the Relaxation Centre to happen into for 42 years, writes simply and eloquently about Focusing. Click through to read his descriptions of these workshops.

Wishing you wonder,
Lynette

PS. From 10-12 September I will be co-facilitating a three day Foundational training in Wholebody Focusing with my friend and colleague Judy Leith, in Waikawa (near Invercargill), New Zealand. An online booking portal will be ready soon. In the meantime, if you are beguiled by this opportunity to learn a revolutionary lifeskill in an achingly stunning remote location - or have people you'd like to share this news with - I can send you more information via email.

My favouritest living philosopher, and founder of Focusing Gene Gendlin, received two lifetime achievement awards this month: one from the US Association for Body Psychotherapy, the other from the World Association for Person Centered & Experiential Psychotherapy & Counseling.

Gene's Philosophy of the Implicit is the ground upon which the practice of Focusing is built. You can find his work at the
Gendlin Online Library.
