The official Nordisk Panorama Film Festival Competition Programme 2016 released.
Nordisk Panorama Film Festival takes place between 16-21 September in Malmö, Sweden. Out of 616 submitted titles, 50 films have now officially been selected to partake in this year’s Nordic championship in documentary and short film production - Nordisk Panorama Awards 2016.
In three jury decided competition sections (Best Nordic Documentary, Best Nordic Short Film and Best New Nordic Voice) renowned representatives from the Nordic film business will award the best of the best. In the fourth section (Nordisk Panorama Audience Award, sponsored by the City of Malmö) the power is however in the hands of the filmgoers to appoint the winner of this year’s honouring audience award.
Nordisk Panorama Film Festival will do everything in its power to make sure that Malmö by the midst of September is flourishing with festival spirit for all of those with either an interest in, curiosity for or profession in documentaries, short films and filmmaking. Directors and filmmakers will be present in Malmö during the festival to participate in Q&A-sessions in connection to the screenings of their respective films. In addition to the large number of screenings, Nordisk Panorama Film Festival is also home to several thought-provoking seminars, talks and master classes destined for both the public as well as for visiting delegates from the documentary and short film business.

Information: To win the audience award at Nordisk Panorama Film Festival is among the finest appreciations a filmmaker can get. The audience can vote for any of the Nordic short films and documentaries competing in the main competition programmes as well as any of the new Nordic films in the special programmes by using voting cards that are handed at the screenings.

ABOUT NORDISK PANORAMA FILM FESTIVAL
Nordisk Panorama Film Festival 2016 takes place between 16-21 September in Malmö, Sweden. Over five days the festival venues as well as the streets are filled with screenings and narratives from all over the world, seminars and business events alongside parties for the young and old.
The festival is considered to be one of the big film festivals for Nordic documentary and short films, and provides a unique platform for partaking films to be noticed and scattered around the world. Nordisk Panorama Film Festival will do everything in its power to make sure that Malmö, by the midst of September, is flourishing with festival spirit for all of those with either an interest in, curiosity for and profession in documentaries, short films and filmmaking.
Spegeln, Panora, Slagthuset, Babel and several other Malmö venues will be filled with festival content between 16-21 September 2016.
The annual Nordisk Panorama Film Festival is hosted by Malmö City, Film i Skåne, and Nordisk Panorama. Since the start back in 1990, the festival has been touring around the 5 Nordic countries. Since 2013, however, the festival has been permanently located in Malmö – a city that puts a lot of interest and effort into the film industry and is home to a large short and documentary film audience. The festival provides a unique opportunity to benchmark the Nordic short and documentary film scene, to network with the Nordic film industry, to watch movies made by recognized film producers, and to discover new promising and aspiring talents.
