What Are We #Compelled2Do?

It's more than just a hashtag! It's more than just a slogan! The theme for our new ministry launch is #Compelled2. But what are we #Compelled2Do?

Thailand is home to more than 68,000,000 people. Thailand is also is the most Buddhist nation on the face of the earth. Among the 77 provinces in this nation, only four have a significant number of Christians. The other 73 provinces are predominately unreached, untouched by the Gospel.

Among Thailand's five major geographic regions, the northeast region, often called Isaan, is the least reached of all. Nearly 22 million people reside in Isaan, yet fewer than 2 in every 1,000 residents of Isaan are followers of Christ. And, in the five provinces of the Mekong River hub in the far northeast of Thailand, an area the size of the USA state of South Carolina, only 0.15% of the 3.6 million Thai people who live here are Christians, with a mere eight Assemblies of God churches among them. This is a region of Southeast Asia that is filled with darkness. It is a region of Southeast Asia that is ripe for harvest.

We are #Compelled2Go to Isaan (northeast Thailand), the least reached region of Thailand.

Nearly 3.6 million people live in 462 villages and townships in the five provinces that make up the Mekong River hub of Isaan, very few have anyone who is a follower of Christ living among them.

Prayer Requests

As missionaries serving among the least reached peoples of the Buddhist and Muslim world, we depend on your daily prayers.

1. Rebecca is once again struggling with illness. This is a reoccurring issue that comes up every year in the rainy season. Pray for quick and complete healing for Rebecca so that she can enjoy all of her time in Thailand.

2. Wayne is back in an intensive language study program, studying eight or more hours each day with a goal of sitting for the government language test in late November. Please pray for ease of acquisition as he studies the more advanced aspects of the Thai language.

3. Our Thai pastors, Dr. Dong and Dr. Maliwan, are currently working on a project in the USA. Pray for them as they travel and work. And pray for their safe return to Thailand in mid-September.
