Farewell Mrs Pavelkova
Alumni returned to West Hatch High School to say 'goodbye' to long-serving Head of Performing Arts Mrs Sue Pavelkova.
In a star-studded 'Live Lounge' on Tuesday, July 19, past and present students along with guests thanked Mrs Pavelkova for the outstanding contribution she had made to school life since joining the West Hatch team.
Alumni performing on the night included Hannah Brandon, Roslyn Lloyd, Martha Corton, Stephanie Dunne, Georgia Crandon, Mollie Richards, Isobel Gamble, Toby Corton, Ryan Green and John Wilding.
Headteacher Frances Howarth said: "In the nine years she has been with us Sue has always actively promoted the Arts.
"She has supported so many students in their passion for their subjects which has resulted in many continuing their studies at some of the top most prestigious drama and dance schools.
"The fact that so many students wanted to come back to perform for her is testament to the high regard in which she is held.
"We wish her a very happy and well deserved retirement and thank her for all she has done for the school over the years."
Mrs Pavelkova spoke of how she had influenced and changed the students in her time at the school but also of how the students had changed her.
"Follow your dreams" remained the key advice she gave all the talented students as they continue to forge careers in the Performing Arts industry.
Guests said they found it amazing that so much talent can come out of one school.
West Hatch High School wishes all alumni students luck in their future chosen pathways and wish Mrs Pavelkova a very happy and fulfilling retirement.
