Library Knitting Morning 

Helensburgh Library is hosting a knitting morning on July 22, from 11am to 1pm. Come and take part – bring your own knitting needles and wool. Morning tea will be provided.

Leadfinger album launch

After almost a decade of playing their own style of 70’s influenced rock’n’roll, local lads Leadfinger launch their new album Friday Night Heroes at Northern Illawarra’s landmark music venue The Heritage Hotel in Bulli on Saturday night. The band will have Vinyl and CD copies of the new album on sale at the gig. The music starts at about 8pm and Leadfinger hit the stage about 10pm.

Planning your garden can save you time, money and a lot of hard work. Head to gardening writer Narelle Happ's workshop to learn about making a base map of your garden, how to analyse your site and plant choices to enhance your garden. 10am-noon, at Sydney Wildflower Nursery in Heathcote.

Scrambled Eggsperiment

Henry Jock Walker, resident artist of Thirroul’s Egg & Dart gallery, is staying busy around the region with his unique brand of creativity. On Saturday, July 23, Henry will be painting surfboards and murals with scrambled eggs at Finbox, Thirroul. On Sunday, July 24, he will be surfing/painting somewhere along the Coal Coast – location to be confirmed on instagram: @henryjocks and @egganddart. He will be at Egg & Dart from July 25-29, from 10am to 5pm every day until the following Friday’s main event at the gallery – with live music, art and more.

Drawing in the city

Sign up for a final free drawing class in the city – local artists Clare Thackway and Kathryn Orton have been holding classes in July in the middle of the refurbished Crown Street Mall. Classes will help artists to explore and discover the built environment and drawing in the open. You must register to book a space.
