July 2016 was one of the deadliest months for law enforcement in the last decade, with 19 officers giving their lives in the line of duty. Of those twenty fallen heroes, 12 died as a result of felonious gunfire. Of the remaining seven, four LODDs were auto-related, two were the result of assault, and one was a drowning death.
