Printing Preparations:

We have fielded a lot of interesting questions from our clients since we opened our printing studio last year. In this short class, participants will learn how to most effectively prepare their images for one of our unique printing processes. We will cover issues ranging from color spaces, file types, and resolution. This must-have course is free of charge and open to the public.

Critique Session:

Please join us on the 1st Sunday of the month for a community photography critique. We are looking to develop a group of photographers to meet monthly to discus the technical and artistic qualities of images. Please bring a select number of images (5 max) on a flash drive. The session is from 2-4pm, and is open to the public.

Intro To Lightroom:

Adobe Lightroom has become the most popular software in America for cataloging and editing photos. While relatively intuitive, it is still fairly complex. This introductory course will guide students through the basic principals and operations of the program. We will cover a range of topics from import to export.
The cost of this class is $80 per participant

Other Classes:

We are currently fielding questions and making contact with other professional photographers in northern Michigan and beyond for the purpose of bringing them in to help us offer additional classes. We have experienced increased interest in astro-photography, and we plan to offer a class in night-time photography later in the summer when we experience longer hours of darkness.

Private Party Classes

Have a group of friends who are looking for a way to spend an entertaining and educational weekend? We offer our full range of classes to private groups as well as to the public. A minimum number of participants is required, depending on the class being offered. All offerings are booked on a first come, first served basis.

Educational courses:

We have received a number of calls over the past couple of weeks from people interested in the photography classes we offer at Glass Lakes Photography and asking how to register for one of our next educational offerings. If you are personally interested in taking a class, or are one among a group of friends who might be looking for an interesting experience to share, or you just happen to work a group of people who are looking for a creative bonding experience, you might consider calling us at the gallery and learning about our next class offerings.

Camera Buying Tip:

Are you looking for a new camera, or know someone who is? We recommend using the Studio Comparison Tool on DPreview.com. This tool allows you to compare the images produced from several different cameras in a side by side setting. You can even change the lighting and sensitivity settings to compare noise and the handling of low light situations. They even have some camera phones in their database. Check it out at this link.

To register for classes, please call or visit the Gallery.

Payment is due at the time of registration. In the event of a class cancellation due to a failing to obtain the minimum number of participants, registrants will be offered a choice: automatic registration for the next scheduled class or a refund for the cancelled course.
* 20% off Printing Studio order applies to Premium Luster paper only. This offering expires on August 27th. This discount is limited to one (1) per attendee. Glass Lakes Photography is not affiliated with either Todd and Brad Reed Photography or the Crooked Tree Arts Center.
