Just a few days to go!

We hope you’re as excited as we are about coming to the Essex International Jamboree   As our big event fast approaches, the empty farmers field in Chelmsford is beginning to look more like a Jamboree – marquees, gateways, stages, walkways, toilets, electric and much more are all going in.  And our teams are all preparing and making final adjustments to ensure that everyone at the Jamboree has an amazing time.

In response to some of the questions raised, we've created a handy Arrivals Day Guide.

This is our final pre-event Newsletter and we have some quick reminders before you start your journey

See you on Saturday!

In the spirit of Scouting and Guiding …

At the 11th hour, our contingents from Bangladesh and Kazakhstan are not able to join us at the Jamboree.  Therefore, if you have a postcard from your area or a badge you can swap, please bring them with you, so that we can send them to the groups as a gift from us.  You’ll find the postbox in the International Tent.

What's on offer in The Horizon?

As we mentioned in the Handbook, The Horizon is the Staff and Leader Recreation Complex divided into different areas: The Staff Restaurant (for pre-paid staff), The Bar, Departures Lounge including outside garden area, Relaxation Station (Adult & Staff) Chill-out Venue and Tourist Information (Adult Help Desk).

As well as The Horizon, the Programme Team would like to give Leaders and Staff the opportunity to try out our activities in some of the Programme Zones.

To find out more about our full Entertainments Programme, please see our Staff and Leader Programme

Online Clothing Orders Update

Due to an unprecedented amount of late orders coming in, our EIJ supplier had no choice but to close the EIJ Collection Site a few days early. There will be an increased shop stock on site of hoodies, polo shirts and T-shirts. On site you be able to personalise individual and small orders as well process large plain or personalised orders. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Have you completed all your phase 2 information for your booking and submitted it?

Please check and ensure this is done in the next day or 2, as without it we cannot prepare your wristbands and that will stop you and your Group from taking part.
