Beyond hazardous fuels: Managing fire for social, economic, and ecological benefits

November 28-December 2, 2016 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona.

Registration is OPEN and we are still accepting proposals to hold attached meetings during the conference.

Field trips and workshops are now posted on the website, roundtable session is in the works, and plenary speakers will soon be shared!

Travel grants will be available (through SWFSC and AFE) and anyone is eligible to apply (deadline October 28, 2016). AFE is also offering TREE grants for students with a deadline of September 30, 2016.

Piñon-Juniper Symposium

October 12-14, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, hosted by Natural Heritage New Mexico.

Registration for the conference is $50 and must be completed ahead of time and paid by credit card. Cost for the field trip is $10, which includes transportation and lunch.

Hosted by the Northern California Prescribed Fire Council and partners:

Women have important talents and perspectives, and that they can play a critical role in advancing fire problem solving together with men.

Both women and men are invited to explore the growing role of women in fire management, while conducting prescribed fire operations designed to advance their formal qualifications in wildland fire management and enhance their understanding of fire ecology and effects, communications and outreach, prescribed fire policy and planning, and more.
