The last week, the NAC was both racing in Ohio and Oregon! Below are the two summaries from coaches on how the programs did!
2016 Club Nationals
Newport Aquatic Center has just returned from the first ever USRowing Club Nationals. Fifteen boys and five girls packed their bags and voyaged out east to Bethel Ohio for a series of racing that took place over five days.

Racing began on Wednesday with all the boys are girls advancing into Thursday's series of racing. After some noteworthy racing and strong lessons learned only Alex Lobel & Trevor Phillips advanced to the U19 Men's 2- grand final. Friday offered some athletes the chance to race a series of 2k's on the same day, which the boys and girls handled with flying colors as all athletes moved on Saturday's racing. Friday night the boys & girls were able to attend a Cincinnati Reds game! The reds won due to the excessive cheering by our student-athletes.   All of our Newport Aquatic Center athletes who traveled to Cincinnati had their eyes opened to managing a large scale regatta and the weather that comes along with it.

All of the results can be found at herenow.com

Thank you for continued support of our young rowers!
2016 Gorge Games
The NAC outrigger team packet up their trucks and headed up to the Colombia River gorge for an epic downwind race. The teams took up 3 women's crews and 2 men's crews. Everyone was happy with their top ten finish and the down wind 12 mile run!

The course was new for this years Gorge Run, and was an 6man only race - with the one man race competing a few days afterwards.
A lot of NAC members also packed up their surfski's and OC1's to head up to the gorge for the entire week of racing and down wind runs!
Summer Camps are in FULL SWING! For both Novice Rowing and Kids Paddle Camp! It's not too late to sign up family and friends for these great summer sessons!
