The GUMchurch Children's Music Ministry presents their 2016 summer musical!
Performances are on Sunday August 28, 2016
at 10am and 4pm!
Dear GUMchurch members and friends,

What a joy it has been to begin my ministry among you and to start to get to know this church community! After two Sundays and almost two full weeks on the job, I have a sense of energy and excitement about the possibilities that lie before us. You have greeted me warmly, graciously forgiven my mistakes in worship, and patiently repeated your names – thank you!

As I mentioned on my first Sunday, it’s going to take us a while to get to know each other. You will learn about my strengths and weaknesses and I will learn about yours.  We will come to appreciate each other and disagree with each other, to respect each other and occasionally be disappointed by each other.  All of that is what goes into being the body of Christ together. It is by learning to appreciate despite disagreement and respect despite disappointment that we also learn to love as Jesus loved – an ever-deepening journey of discipleship.

You are in my prayers, and I ask that you pray for me, as we take our first steps on that journey together.
Peace, Jennie

Your GUMchurch Missions Team would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to the many volunteers who helped make the July 15 Food Truck and dinner a meaningful event for our community. With your help and personal involvement we were able to provide food to over 90 families in need.
A special Thank You to all of the folks who prepared “homemade” potato salad and worked so hard in preparing the food for the dinner. We know that summertime is a very busy time and and we are so very appreciative of your willingness to devote your energy and time to something that directly touches so many folks in need.

Our next food truck and community dinner is scheduled for September 16.
Mark your calendars!

The GUMchurch community thrives thanks to the time, talent, treasure and dedication of SO MANY wonderful people!

The vision of GUMchurch is to actively live the example of Jesus.

We do this by practicing:
Radical Hospitality
Passionate Worship
Risk-taking Mission and Service
Intentional Faith Development
Extravagant Generosity

We value questions and different perspectives.
GUMchurch is a safe place to ask difficult questions and express varying opinions. People are respected and able to participate in open and honest conversations.

We value diversity.
We understand and appreciate that everyone has various and distinct gifts that are vital to the body of Christ. Therefore, we respect, listen to, and welcome all with love and support.

We value the Bible and biblical scholarship.
We believe that the Bible is timeless and that it's lessons shape our daily living. People of all ages are encouraged to engage in intentional faith development.

We value all people and treat each as having sacred worth.
We are called and challenged to love one another without exception. We are accountable to each other; forgive each other; and love, support, and encourage each other.

We value living like Jesus as much as believing in Jesus.
Beliefs should positively impact the world through concrete actions.
We use our spiritual gifts in service with others.
