Attend the Art Auction in support of Emma International Collaboration
Every two years, one hundred artists from across the globe come together in Saskatchewan to share in an experience of raw creation and open possibility – Emma International Collaboration. Affectionately known as Emma, this biennial week-long event takes place at the Ness Creek Festival Site in the heart of the Boreal Forest in Northern Saskatchewan.
Both a live and a silent auction are held to support the continuation of this important art event. The auction features oneâ€ofâ€aâ€kind collaborative artworks created this summer at Emma. Rub shoulders with artists from Australia, Curacao, Denmark, France, New Zealand, Switzerland, USA and Canada. View and bid on intriguing, unique, and original pieces. Emma is all about inspiring works in mixed media, fibre, glass metal, wood, painting, and photography. Artists are challenged to step outside their art practice: to explore, experiment, and collaborate. This is your opportunity to take a piece of the magic home! The auction is free and open to the public. It takes place on Thursday, August 4 at Holy Family Cathedral.
Get your first glimpse of this year's Emma artists' work at the Emma Bound exhibition — on now at Saskatchewan Craft Council Gallery, 813 Broadway Ave, Saskatoon. This exhibition showcases the eclectic, imaginative and energetic individual work of the artists participating in the2016 Emma International Collaboration, as well as invited guest artists.
