Fellow UU in Need of Assistance
A member of the UU church in Hobart, IN was accepted into John Hopkins School of Nursing and is moving to Baltimore soon. He is looking for a fellow UU to stay with while he searches for an apartment. If you would be interested in hosting this member, please be in touch with the office and we will put you in touch with him. He has letters of recommendation from their Board President as well as their co-chair of Worship, which are available upon request. Volunteers Needed for Our Daily Bread
Please remember, we will need some extra help when we cook for the guests of Our Daily Bread on Saturday, July 30, beginning at 8:30 a.m. If we have enough help we'll be done by noon or so, except for the hardy souls who staff the oven. It will be warm, so dress accordingly, but there will be cross breezes, when appropriate doors sre opened by the folks who arrive early. Coffee and a snack will be available. Please let me know that you can help.

Chancel Painting Project: Volunteer!!
Building and Grounds will be painting the mid-section of the chancel wall to further brighten up the sanctuary in August. All work will be performed on scaffolding and ladders. The paint job itself will be pretty simple roller-type work. Please come and join us Wednesday-Saturday, August 10-13. We will begin at 9:30 and work until 2:30. Come join us!!
Wednesday we will begin with prepping the area at 9:30 and start painting when we are done. Wear old clothes. Water and snacks will be provided. The reward will be a lighter, more beautiful sanctuary to worship in this September.

Beginnings Class
Sunday, August 21
Beginnings, an orientation to Unitarian Universalism and to First Unitarian Church of Baltimore is being offered on Sunday, August 21st after coffee hour. The session will run from 11:45 to 1:15 p.m. in the Volunteer Room on the second floor of the Enoch Pratt Parish Hall. Snacks will be provided. ADORE Schedule
The ADORE facilitators from First Unitarian Church Baltimore and Towson Unitarian Universalist Church have some exciting announcements. We want to continue to have a major monthly program or event where Unitarian Universalists and others in the community can come together for A Dialogue on Race and Ethnicity. We did decide on a regular time that you can mark on your calendars monthly. We will meet or participate in a community event the third Saturday of each month.

Board Basics Workshop
Saturday, August 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Are you a new Congregational Board member? Or are you serving on a Congregational Board for the first time, but would like to learn more?
This event is a primer in what it means to serve on a Congregational Board, how healthy Boards function, and what are ways your congregation can function better. Our presenter is Rev. David Pyle, UUA Central East Regional Staff Primary Contact for the Delmarva, Central Pennsylvania, and Greater Baltimore Clusters, and the Central East Regional Governance Program Manager.
We will meet August 13 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Cedarhurts UUs in Finksburg, MD.
We ask for a $10 donation to cover lunch please.

Change for Change
Our Change for Change partner for June, July, and August is Dayspring Programs in East Baltimore. Dayspring's mission is to improve the lives of children and families affected by substance abuse, homelessness, and poverty.
Members of our church serve on the Board of Dayspring and its staff, and volunteer to provide opportunities for residents to participate in meditation and yoga classes. Our church also initiated and sponsors Dayspring Garden, providing learning opportunities for children and their moms in planting, tending, and harvesting fresh vegetables, along with enjoying flowers and shade trees.
