Dear Parents

Welcome to Term 3. Hopefully it will not be as busy as the last 2 terms, but we shall see!

I hope that you all had a restful break with your children. It was great to see them back healthy and ready to go again.

We welcome Kirby Hilton back. Kirby is returning from maternity leave and will be working with Tony Brooks in 3BH. Kirby will also be spending one day per week in a learning support role. We also welcome Craig Farrar, who will be working with 5MC while Mick Cambey is on Long Service Leave for the next 6 weeks. Trent Perczyk and Marg Hanrahan will be in 4H for the next 2 weeks and Helen Ryan in 6BS for the next 3 weeks. We hope all of these people enjoy their time with us.

This Friday, the girls & boys from Years 3 and 4 will be taking part in the Trent Barret Rugby Gala day. Notes regarding this have gone home to the students involved or click here.

Orders for the Pie Drive are due back at school by this Friday 22nd July. Forms are available from the school office or click here.

The School Council is organizing a Trivia Night for Parents and their friends for Friday 12th August in Mercy Hall. Details regarding this will be coming shortly. Please save this date on your calendar.

Welcome to Term 3 - what a busy term we have ahead of us in the Celebration of our Faith!

Our Year 6 children are busy preparing for Confirmation. They will attend the Confirmation meeting in the Church with their parents next Wednesday, 27th July at 7.00pm. They will also attend one of the Commitment Masses, with their families, on Saturday, 30th July or Sunday, 31st July as part of their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. There will be more Confirmation news as the term progresses.

Each year level will be involved in an ‘Encounter with Jesus’, meeting with Fr Joel to hear and discuss stories about Jesus – his life, teachings and his great love for us all. Years 3 – 6 will also receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Important Feast Days

8th August: St Mary of the Cross MacKillop

15th August: The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Day of Holy Obligation)

LGT

‘Let’s Get Together’ will begin next Monday at St Patrick’s. For the new families to our school, ‘Let’s Get Together’ (LGT) is the means we use at St Patrick’s to spread across our school the ideas, values and attitudes from the Making Jesus Real Program. This year we have 32 groups with 13-15 children from Kinder to Year 6 in each group. Yr 6 students are the leaders for each group and we meet fortnightly after recess on Monday.
