Welcome to our Regal Engineering & Line Boring May newsletter.

April was a very busy month for Regal Engineering & Line Boring; a very exciting month actually!

I was invited to present a seminar to mining, engineering and metallurgical students at Curtin University’s West Australian School of Mines in Kalgoorlie, and had the pleasure of meeting the futures leaders of the mining industry and The Honourable Malcolm Turnbull, our Prime Minister.

Regal Engineering is also proud to have been awarded a 3 year contract with St Ives (Goldfields), to carry out their Mechanical, Electrical, Piping & Maintenance works.

Community Involvement

I would like to thank all of you who supported Autism Awareness month; I will keep you updated as more information comes to hand about progress and outcomes.

I will be supporting the VINNIES CEO SLEEPOUT on the 23rd of June 2016 and I am looking for support from all our clients, family and friends towards reaching my goal of $5000.00+.

There are officially more than 105,000 Australians experiencing homelessness every night across Australia (1 in every 200). More than 17,000 Australian children under the age of 12 have no home, representing 17% of the overall homeless population.

The most common reasons people give for becoming homeless relate to interpersonal conflict including domestic and family violence and relationship breakdown.

Safety Management

with Cecilia Hynes, Safety Co-Ordinator

We are currently in the process of developing our online Safety Management System (SMS) in order to reduce the need for paper reporting; this is the future of incident reporting, a formal roll out of this process will be delivered in the coming months. Regal is working alongside Episafe in improving our online induction which is specifically catered to Regal’s business, including our core business function, culture and values.

Regal is in the process of updating all documentation in order to achieve ISO accreditation by the end of June; we will have a uniform system across all business processes. These changes will be evident throughout our business over the coming months.

Maintenance & Shutdowns Kalgoorlie

with Ian Fitzgerald, Maintenance & Shutdowns Manager

Our skills and ability were tested in April with a very busy month and some pretty challenging work. We came through it all with flying colours!

One of our assignments was a stairway with a roof dust cover which we had to design, fabricate and install for one of our clients. This was an internal design with details, plan and fabricate construct, and proved to be a difficult job but enjoying the challenge Regal rose to the occasion. We had a start point but no finish point and the cover had a number of different angles, we started from 9 metres off the ground, working downwards, putting in 2 knee braces for extra support. Ensuring all safety aspects were considered prior to starting with achieve, on time on budget no incidents or accidents.

As you can see from the photo below, the end product was excellent!

General Fabrication

with Richard Debarro, General Fabrication Manager
Our major focus this month is Quality. We were re-accredited in March of this year so that our certificate will be renewed in August and be valid until 2018. However, we are continuously improving and upgrading to an online Quality System so that we can track all our processes and record everything accurately.

We are also including more rigorous training programmes and assessment for all our employees and sub- contractors. This focus on quality will ensure more timely and accurate reporting to our clients, ensuring greater customer satisfaction.

Our People;
Labour Services supporting all Regal divisions

April has been a bumper month for Maintenance and Shut-downs at Regal as we come off the back of 15 successful outages supplying more than 100 skilled tradesmen throughout the state. In the past year Regal has been experiencing continued growth in the labour provision area of our business and we are readily becoming a provider of choice for our quality, service and expansive capabilities.

The Labour Services department supports the various divisions of Regal by recruiting, selecting and inducting full time employees; last month alone we welcomed seven new employees across four divisions.
As such we are implementing various recruitment strategies to manage the high demand for service and are continually seeking to increase our labour pool. We’re always on the lookout for talented boilermakers, fitters, operators and trade assistants.

Kayla and Melissa work tirelessly to select premium candidates that meet the highest of standards. Recently the duo met with an emerging talent technology company to explore new ways of enlarging the Regal talent pool rapidly – this partnership will introduce cutting edge innovation to how we recruit, engage and retain first class talent to continue The Regal Experience.
