When selecting universities, two of the most important elements would be ranking and majors. A lot of students are hesitant between the general ranking and major ranking. General ranking shows the integrated quality whereas the major ranking shows the faculty, facilities, curriculum and so on of one specific major or department. A colleg with fine general ranking can not guarantee all the majors are great. Some universities with about 60 gerenal ranking have several wonderful majors that are ranked top 10 in major ranking. For students who haven't decided majors when applying, general ranking can go first;
For students who have decided majors and have strong passion in them, major ranking should go first;
