Since 2013, the HSICF has put an emphasis on early education development while continuing to grow our food program under our Operation B.O.O.K. initiative. This year, we added the Student of the Month program in which students from each classroom are recognized for exceeding expectations in homework, social interaction, attendance in addition to several other categories. The students of the month receive a small gift to mark their achievement and acknowledge their great effort. Meet the newest HSICF Students of the Month below!
Devota Saitoti is five years old. Her favorite color is orange. At the Meserani school her favorite subject is Kiswahili, also known as Swahili. Her favorite thing about the Meserani School is she gets to read books. When she grows up she wants to care for people by becoming a nurse.She lives in a small village named Saa Limijo where she lives with her mom, dad and sister. When at home, she likes helping her mom with the chores of cleaning up and keeping their home tidy.
Oprah Joan James is 6 years old. Her favorite color is blue. Her favorite subject to learn at school is English. When she grows up she wants to become a teacher. She loves reading. Her favorite thing about the Meserani School is all the books she can read when she’s there. She lives with her mom and dad in Lovi about a 30 minute walk each day to school. When she’s not in school she likes helping her mom by washing dishes and cleaning up their home.
