Ohu Maatu 2016

WOW! A weekend to remember!

Rawe!  Our AGM weekend was full of korero and laughter and an opportunity for reconnection, celebration and the chance to reflect on the previous year's achievements.  The event was well attended by our whanau from both near and as far away as Perth, Australia!  We were delighted with the huge turnout and pleased to see new faces.  This year saw tree planting at Te Uma, waiata, weaving, waka ama, ki o rahi and much much more.  We have made a special presentation on our website that you can look at by clicking here.

Barney Thomas and Mereama Chase were re-elected unopposed to the Board for three year terms and we welcome Pat Park onto the Board.  Pat has previously served on the Board and we look forward to his contribution once again.
A big thank you to outgoing Trustee John Katene (JK).  JK is a strong supporter of NRAIT and his mahi for NRAIT over the past three years has been valued and appreciated.

Travel Subsidy

Please apply for the travel subsidy by 31 May.  Email the office on info@nrait.co.nz with your name and bank account details.  Travel subsidies are available for NRAIT owners living outside Te Tau Ihu who registered and attended the AGM.  Tamariki travel subsidies also available.

Education

Based on feedback received from you as part of our Project Ipukarea survey, we are in the process of reviewing our Education Grants and Scholarships to make them broader and more accessible.  Applications are closed as we revise the framework and simplify the application process.  We will re-open for applications once we have completed this mahi and will advise you via Facebook and email when this is.

Maori to the Valley

Callaghan Innovation are leading a programme that involves sending rangatahi to Silicon Valley (USA) on an exciting programme to inspire them towards entrepreneurship and innovation and to instill a desire to study STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
NRAIT are looking to fund one registered member to attend.  If you are a Year 10-13 student, studying STEM subjects and interested in participating in this programme, contact the Trust on 03 548 0770 or email info@nrait.co.nz for further information.

Insulation

Insulating your home is the single most effective thing you can do to keep your home warm and to save energy and money.  NRAIT continues to offer insulation to owners living in the Motueka/Nelson/
Marlborough area and who hold a Community Services card or endorsed Gold Card, and have people living permanently in their house aged over 65 or under 17.  Call the Trust on 03 548 0770 or email on info@nrait.co.nz for more information.
