Proposed merger of SFH/NUH - update

Work is progressing at pace to understand what needs to happen to bring the two trusts together.

More clinical colleagues from NUH are providing support to SFH colleagues as we establish a joint programme of work to make sustainable improvements to patient safety.

We do not yet know whether the new organisation will be a Foundation Trust or NHS Trust. We are awaiting legal advice.

Dedicated merger website

We’ve launched a new website for patients, partners and staff to provide up-to-date information about the proposed merger. This includes events, staff/public meetings, latest news and Frequently Asked Questions.

The website is available here: www.futuretogethernotts.nhs.uk

New name, new Trust?

The most frequently asked question by patients and staff to date has been about the name of the new organisation.

We are aware that there will be costs involved in developing a name for the new trust.

We want to hear your views on names that will have meaning for patients and the local community.

You can send your thoughts to nuhcommunications@nuh.nhs.ukchief.executive@sfh-tr.nhs.uk or @nottmhospitals and @SFHFT.

Aquiline faced strong competition from nine other finalists shortlisted for the award, which was presented at a ceremony held at the London Hilton, Park Lane on Thursday 28 April.

New 'Serenity Suite' opens at QMC

A purpose-built bereavement suite for families who have been affected by stillbirth has been officially opened at NUH…thanks to the outstanding fundraising efforts of a local couple.

The 'Serenity Suite', based at QMC, has been funded by the Forever Stars charity, which was set up by Michelle and Richard Daniels after the loss of their baby Emily in 2013. The charity has raised more than £115,000 to make the project a reality.
