A new section of the local host organization's web site is now dedicated to the 2016 Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championships. It can be accessed here: www.moucheursendiables.com
Click on the Commonwealth tab at the top of the page and you will find everything you need to know about the competition.
Additional pages will be added here to post the rule modifications, draw, and daily results. Currently there is a page which identifies the teams as well as the individual team members. BOOKING CODE
For those wishing to book room nights post or prior to the event at the Fairmont Hotel the discounted group room rate ( $159.00 plus taxes and fees based on dbl.occ. for a "Fairmont Room" upgrades are available ) use the booking code: CHAM0816.
The booking code is valid from August 23 to 27 post event and then 2 to 4 September.
PRACTICE ROTATION
There will be 4 days of official practice possible on the 3 lakes from August 25 to 28 inclusive. The boats and lakes have been reserved for the exclusive use of the teams during that 4 day period.
Teams are required to follow the rotation schedule which is posted on the website.
No reservations are required, but teams will be obliged to register at the gate and will be directed by a volunteer from the Organizing Committee.
There will be no fee charged for the fishing rights, boats, motors and batteries during the 4 day official practice days.
Upon registration teams will pick up motors and batteries at the gate and will be responsible for their use and safe return to the gate at the end of their rotation slot.
During each designated time slot the eligible teams will have a single boat available to them on each of the 3 lakes.
Teams cannot trade time slots and only teams scheduled for the practice slot will be allowed on the water.
The rotation has been set up so there is an equal opportunity for all competitors to practice.
The distance to travel fro the River Sectors to the Lake Sectors is about a half an hour driving time, so competitors can easily plan to practice part of the day on the river and during their team time slots on the lakes. Please take note that the river is closed to all competitors 2 days prior to the first session so the last practice day on the river is August 27.
SECTOR CHANGE
The Organizing Committee has made a change to Sector V.
Lac des Ilse, will now be fished in place of lac Long. Lac des Ilse is a bigger lake and holds rainbow and brook trout as well as good numbers of lake trout.
Sector III, lac Barriere and Sector IV, lac Renversi are unchanged.
BALANCE OF EVENT REGISTRATION FEES.
Captains or managers should send the remaining event registration fees no later than May 31st. The Organizing Committee will send you reminders of the amount due by 15 May.
