MNA insurance is not a “good use of Allina’s resources”

That’s what Allina negotiators told MNA on Feb. 10.

Here’s what they think is a good use of resources:

Investments outside of Minnesota in Central America and the Caribbean – Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas - $159,786,000

+ Allina executive compensation for 2014 FY is $17,076,395*

+ Allina Board of Directors total compensation was $190,959**

*Form 990, Schedule J, Part II

**According to Allina's 2014 tax returns, Allina's Board of Directors worked an average of two hours per week.

"My health insurance is important to me because my second daughter has therapy 5 days a week. Every month she has to go to Mayo to see a specialist. Without my insurance I would not be able to afford to give her the care she needs and I work to maintain my family and the other kids. MNA Health Insurance has been a part of the main reason I work at Mercy and in order to afford my livelihood."

Penny Wheeler, CEO, Allina Health

"To have these high deductibles that have people with chronic illnesses not getting their follow-up care for their diabetes or their heart disease or something like that, that's a travesty." Penny Wheeler July 8th, 2015
