Aaaaaa..... It's a rich and beautiful season. Crisp, pristine air. Fragrant, newly-opened flower blossoms. Songbirds singing buoyant melodies. Warm, radiant sunshine. Spring is a natural time to Re-Fresh. It's also time to look inward - Revisit, Reassess, Reorganize. Right now we have natural support for self-reflection with plenty of planets in retrograde - Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto!
It may be a nice time to:
- slow way down -
- breathe deep -
- take a fresh look into all areas of your life -
- keep what's working and clear out the rest -
- give yourself plenty of unconditional love -
- appreciate a fresh, new you! -

Wising You The Brightest, Finest of Seasons.

Queen of Asanas

If Viparita Karani Mudra were marketed today it would be called "notox botox"!  Ancient texts claim this mudra eliminates wrinkles, no graying hair, and reverses aging! Try it for yourself.
Come into supported shoulder stand... use blocks, blankets or legs up the wall if you like.
The magic is focused awareness and breathing pattern.
Gather your focus at the navel.
Slowly inhale into the heart then up to the throat pit.
Pause.
Slowly exhale into the eyebrow center, then back of the skull, then out the crown of your head.
Repeat for 21 cycles.
Enjoy!!!
Spicy Masala Cookies

I fell in love with these delicious savory cookies when I was in India. They're perfect with tea or for a yummy snack. My Thursday Kundalini Yoga class LOVES them and I know you will too!

1 3/4 C  flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C chilled butter
1 inch piece of fresh grated ginger
1/2 tsp powdered ginger
1 1/2 tsp crushed whole peppercorns
1 1/2 tsp lightly toasted cumin seeds
1 tsp crushed coriander seeds
2 tsp sugar
3 Tbsp plain yogurt or cream
2 Tbsp black sesame seeds
1 Tbsp olive oil

Combine flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda in a large mixing bowl. Add pieces of chilled butter and mix with your fingers or in a food processor until butter is incorporated into a sandy texture... like making a pie crust.
Next add the spices and sugar.
Gently mix in just enough yogurt or cream for the dough to hold together. Try not to over-work it.
Flatten the dough into a disc, cover with plastic wrap and chill for one hour.
Roll the dough very thin (1/8 to 1/4 inch) on a lightly floured surface.
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the dough and lightly press into the surface with rolling pin.
Cut into small rounds with a cookie cutter (a bottle-top works great).
Place on parchment lined sheet and brush lightly with oil to help with browning.
Bake 350 for 20 minutes or until lightly brown.

You may have learned a lot, a little, or nothing at all about samkya, jyotisha, vaastu, ayurveda, or sanskrit... but if you practice yoga, you are probably aware that the poses are just the tiny tip of the iceburg!  Wherever you are on your path, once you begin to learn about the roots of yoga, you naturally want to learn more. And once you begin to learn more, how do you truly integrate this classic, vedic, divine wisdom into your own world - on and off the mat? You can find out this summer! Please join me, and a stellar team of amazing teachers in the pristine jungles of Costa Rica at the
